GAMES SET AND MATCH

KATIE BOULTER claimed her "risk" of playing the Olympics before the US Open had paid off after she finally found her "rhythm" to reach the second round.

And now the British No.1 is targeting her best run at a Grand Slam.

The No.31 seed had won only one match in three hardcourt events since the Paris Olympics on the clay at Roland Garros.

Aliaksandra Sasnovich, who beat Heather Watson in qualifying, had looked set to claim another British scalp when she won the first set in the midday heat after an 11am start here.

But Boulter battled back to win 5-7 6-2 6-1 in two hours and 25 minutes after winning 12 of the last 13 points in stadium 17.

And she said: "I'm super proud of the way I managed to stay in there.
