LORD LUCAN: THE NANNY'S STORY

A £1MILLION documentary series I will focus on the hunt for missing aristocrat Lord Lucan by the son of the nanny he murdered.

Three hour-long programmes following Neil Berriman's quest will be screened by the BBC to mark the 50th anniversary of Lucan's disappearance.

The peer killed Neil's mum Sandra Rivett on November 8, 1974, before disappearing, never to be seen again. If still alive he will be 89 now.

Neil is convinced he escaped England with the help of rich and powerful friends and is still living in Australia.

Clare Sillery, the BBC's head of documentary commissioning said: "While there have been many programmes following Lord Lucan and his possible fate, Sandra's story has rarely been told.
