IT WAS on November 24 that Nathaniel Favour Enemona left his family home after telling his wife he was going to the shop. He never returned.
The dad-of two, aged 27, was seen later that morning by a dog walker close to Heywood waterfall, beside the River Roch.
When she passed the scene shortly afterwards, only a pair of sliders were left on the ground behind.
His disappearance came during the impact of Storm Bert, when the river was extremely 'dangerous, with high levels and fast flowing waters. It was feared almost immediately that the young dad had somehow entered the water.
What followed was weeks of searches in the river, involving specialist teams, and across the wider Heywood area. Rescue teams were pictured searching woodland and on boats in the water.
Police, firefighters, mountain rescue teams, an HM Coastguard helicopter, and paramedics took part in the rescue operation following Nathaniel's disappearance.
