CITY DEFENDER DEDICATES WIN OVER SLOVAKIA TO FIVE-YEAR-OLD BOY WHO PASSED AWAY DURING GAME

Victory was for Dillon', says England star Stones

ENGLAND and Manchester City player John Stones dedicated Sunday night's Euros win to a little boy who tragically passed away during the game.

Dillan Ramsey, five, was first diagnosed with cancer in May 2020 and underwent gruelling chemotherapy, radiation treatment, cell therapy and a bone marrow transplant as he suffered various relapses.

The youngster and his family, including mum Amy and dad Ozzy Aksehir, had been given fresh hope in 2023 when a trip to Washington for privately funded new type of CAR T-cell therapy, which is only licenced in the US, appeared successful and led to the 'all-clear' on a number of test results.

But despite further treatment his cancer returned this year and they were told nothing more could be done.
