KIREN RIJIJU'S REMARKS Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, announced that the Winter Session of Parliament will commence on November 25 and continue until December 20, 2024. He highlighted that on November 26, a special celebration marking the 75th anniversary of the Constitution's adoption will be held in the Central Hall of the Samvidhan Sadan.

EVENT IN CENTRAL HALL AND OPPOSITION'S REQUEST The Central Hall of Parliament, historically significant as the venue where the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution on November 26, 1949, will host the commemorative event. In anticipation of this occasion, opposition parties have requested the Speaker to allow the Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, to address the gathering, emphasizing the importance of inclusive representation in such national celebrations.

EVOLUTION OF THE CONSTITUTION POST-AMBEDKAR Since its adoption on January 26, 1950, the Constitution of India has undergone numerous amendments to address evolving socio-political, economic, and legal challenges. As of September 2024, there have been 106 amendments to the Constitution.
