South Africa has produced some world-class athletes, such as Caster Semenya and Wayde van Niekerk, in recent times, while Akani Simbine continues to shine in the sprint events.
But it looks like we've got another gem in our midst in Prudence Sekgodiso.
The 23-year-old has been in the athletics picture for a few years now, but yesterday she took a major step forward when she timed her run perfectly to charge home to gold in the women's 800m final at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Nanjing, China.
