DIRECTOR of football Neil Dewsnip will be asking for some of the money that Plymouth Argyle are receiving from Stoke City for manager Steven Schumacher to go towards January transfer window funds.
It is going to be a very important few weeks for the Pilgrims, not only working to find a suitable successor for Schumacher but also trying to make the squad as strong as possible for the rest of the season. Argyle retaining their Championship status this term was the main priority when Schumacher was manager and it continues to be now the 39-year-old has moved to the Potteries.
Stoke agreed a substantial six-figure sum close to £1 million with Argyle to appoint Schumacher as their new head coach. Three members of his backroom staff - assistant manager Mark Hughes and coaches Darren Behcet and Peter Cavanagh have followed him to the Potteries.
