Perks off as Argyle are beaten by Robinesses

PLYMOUTH Argyle fell to an unfortunate 2-0 defeat to Cheltenham Town at Kimberley Stadium, in the FA WPL Premier Division on Sunday, with manager Ryan Perks sent off following a controversial second goal for the visitors.

Having fallen behind to a goal from Una Lue, Argyle had cause to complain about the manner of the second, which proved their undoing.

With Argyle defender Amii Kearley down in the box, when the visitors went to take a corner, the referee waved play on, and Emily Owen duly doubled their lead.

And so Argyle were once again on the wrong side of some unfortunate decisions, but they did not let their heads drop and used this as motivation, although they could not make the breakthrough.

Perks made one change to the side that defeated Gwalia United 4-3 last weekend, with Lulu Jarvis being replaced by Imy Crawford, who was also named captain, in the starting XI.

It was a scrappy first 15 minutes, with chances for both sides, but neither keeper really being tested.
