The Conservatives said Labour is taking millions of pounds from hospices and palliative care charities by making changes to employers’ national insurance contributions (NICs) - announced in the autumn Budget - and then telling them to be “grateful” for getting some money back.
The Government described the £100 million for adults and children’s hospices in their provision of end-of-life care as the biggest investment in a generation in the sector.
