THE Yellow Legged Asian Hornet is appearing on our shores and Plymouth beekeepers are warning the public to be aware of the danger they pose to the humble honeybee.
The non-native species is a major predator of honeybees and is also known to eat many other species of pollinators, including flies and wasps.
The species has been found in the UK on several occasions since 2016, with an unprecedented large number of sightings in autumn 2023.
