A ROYAL Navy veteran has spoken of how he struggled to cope after losing two young sons. Veteran Paul Adamson lived on Plymouth's Barbican when he was stationed in the city in the 1980s. When he left the Navy, Paul returned home to South Wales, got married and had three sons in the late 1990s.
But tragedy struck not once, but twice, for the family. Their baby David died at birth and their other son, Jamie, who was born in 1998, died in 2004. Little Jamie had leukaemia and battled the disease for two years. He was just five years old when he died. The trauma of losing two children led to the breakup of Paul's marriage, but Paul found a way to channel his grief by founding the Jamie Adamson Memorial Fund (JAM Fund).
