THE story of 'The Little Red Hen' gets a glow up this week!

In The Drum until the 19th of April, The Adventures of The Little Red Hen is an adorable heart warming take on the traditional children's story about a hen in need of some help.

Fairweather friends are everywhere but true friends are hard to find - that's the simple moral underpinning Stuff and Nonsense's new show about a little red hen in dire need of assistance from the lazy farmyard animals she lives with.

It's such a straightforward plot that young children (and their wornout parents) can access the play with great ease from the start. The hen in question (Maria Gray) is brightly dressed in red frills. Immediately recognisable as the quirky little red hen, she's accompanied by the wonderfully warm Adam (Gareth Price Baghurst). Together, they make absolutely everything about the performance exciting for their family audience.

The intimate nature of The Drum is perfect for a children's show because both Adam and the hen can spontaneously talk to the entire audience, respond to random questions and sometimes even involve the crowd in the action.
