WHITTAKER ON TARGET AGAIN BUT ARGYLE STILL SEEKING AWAY WIN
CHRIS ERRINGTON
New boss happy as Pilgrims settle for their point

IAN Foster declared he was 'really pleased with his Plymouth Argyle players after the 1-1 Championship draw away to Huddersfield Town.

It was Foster's first official game in charge as the Pilgrims' head coach and while he acknowledged there were areas which were lacking, such as their attacking potency after a positive start to the contest, he was delighted with the performance and the hard-earned point.

Morgan Whittaker opened the scoring for Argyle early on with his 15th goal of the season but Josh equalised for the Tornion in the 20th Koroma equalised for the Terriers in the 38th minute.

Foster said: "My reflections are that we have had four or five days on the grass with the players this week and I have given them an awful lot of tactical and principle information, and what was pleasing today is that you could see it.

"I thought they implemented our ideas well. The difficulty we have got is that we are a team who is clearly struggling away from home. We needed a platform to build from and we needed a structure to do that, but we have also got to find a balance between structurally sound and difficult to beat, and still having that attacking potency.

"Although the goal (from Whittaker) was magnificent, that was probably a part of our game that we lacked. We can get better at securing the first pass on defense-to-attack transitions.

"So when we work really hard in the block and we turn over the ball we have got to secure that first pass to then give us an opportunity to either hit the team on the break or just get our passes in.
