A HUGE snake spotted in a Plymouth car park was listed as one of the most unusual animal rescues of 2023 for the RSPCA.
The animal welfare charity is called out to various animals in distress every day, and has shared details of the most bizarre occasions in the past 12 months.
One of its most unusual missions came when it got a call about a two-meter-long snake between cars in the Devon city.
It was alerted to a boa constrictor, a non-venomous but still frightening-looking snake, which had to be rescued from a public place last September. Volunteer Dawn Lapthorn carried out the rescue of the heavy-bodied snake, which is frequently bred and kept in captivity, and it was taken to a specialist reptile centre.
