THE ongoing political face-off took an ugly turn on Thursday after the Opposition and the ruling BJP got into a "pitched battle" outside Parliament over Union home minister Amit Shah's remarks on B.R. Ambedkar. Allegations flew thick and fast with both sides accusing each other of resorting to violence, which left two BJP MPs - Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput - in hospital with head injuries.
While the BJP alleged that Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi pushed their MPs, the Congress said its party chief Mallikarjun Kharge lost his balance after being pushed by the BJP's members.
