Revenue, rural dev dept officials stir against cops
The New Indian Express Vellore
|December 18, 2024
EMPLOYEES of the revenue and rural development departments in Tiruvannamalai staged a protest on Tuesday accusing the police of disrupting their duties during the Karthigai Deepam festival last week.
Over 600 revenue department staff gathered outside the district administration office and were joined by officials from 19 rural development offices.
The protestors said they were denied access to key work areas, including temple premises and Girivalam path, despite them presenting their ID cards.
Later in the day, it was, however, revealed that the police denied them entry since they did not produce the official working passes.
