Preventing heat exhaustion

Preventing heat exhaustion

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are two types of heat-related illness, which can occur when the body overheats due to exposure to high temperatures, especially when combined with physical activity and sun exposure over extended periods.

Heat exhaustion and heat stroke exist along a spectrum of severity with heat stroke being classified as the most serious form of heatrelated injury. Heat exhaustion is less severe but can progress to heat stroke in the absence of adequate cooling intervention. This progression can lead to a potentially life-threatening situation that requires rapid emergency cooling and medical intervention.
