WatchTime India’s October-December 2024 issue features the new Santos de Cartier Dual Time on the cover - the first watch in the Santos line with a dual time functionality. The story traces the timepiece’s roots back to the very first wristwatch for pilots, created for Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont by Louis Cartier, and how the new timepiece perfectly lives up to its legacy. The features section takes the reader through Montblanc’s manufactures in Le Locle and Villeret in Switzerland, which are giving the brand an edge few other watchmakers can match. We got up-close with Delhi-based Ravi Sethi’s watch collection, for whom the joy of collecting watches lies not just in timepieces but also in the people and community that help further this passion. There is also an interview with 2024 Rolex National Geographic Explorer Fernando Trujillo, who has spent his life protecting the Amazon river dolphins. Our other conversations are with Christoph Grainger-Herr, CEO, IWC Schaffhausen, on the brand’s 2024 smash hits; Richard Benc, on Studio Underd0g's quirky, colourful approach to horology; and Frederico Ziviani on how Gerald Charles, the last brand from one of watchmaking’s foremost figures, is keeping alive the founder’s design legacy. We also revisited legendary watchmaker George Daniels’s Space Traveller watches that combined different concepts of time reading. The 'Test and Reviews' section inspects Parmigiani Fleurier’s Tonda PF Sport, Breitling's Avenger B01 Chronograph ‘Night Mission’, Nomos Glashütte's Club, and Sinn's 356 Flieger Classic AS E.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB

With the Nomos graduation watch launched back in 2007, the Club had almost left its teenage years behind. Reason enough for the manufacturer in Glashütte to revise this watch's design for the first time ever, but without altering its character. Our test shows how well the Club is maturing.
