I dette nummeret

Our Cover story is about EdMoses and his origins. We reached into the explosion of art early on in the Los Angeles scene with the birth of the Ferus Gallery, and how Ed Moses and the Cool School artists were instrumental in the formation of art here. We unearthed the processes Marcus Jansen, founder of the movement Modern Urban Expressionism, goes through to create his internationally acclaimed art. We conducted a Q&A with innovative Motorcycle designer Gard Hollinger from Arch Motorcycle and discovered their secret to creating art as motorcycle, and found out what the acronym KRGT stands for. We sat down and had a long conversation with actor and sculptor Tony Dow, and how he takes burned pieces of wood and turns them into classic sculptures. We spoke to Finish Fetish and Light and Space artist Casper Brindle and dug deep into California's car and art culture.

Malibu Arts Journal Description:

The steady power of art as earned influence.

Our editorial artists have earned reputations as cultural barometers on California’s unique arts scene and have made us the Southern California influential arts journal.

Malibu readers are from a world-famous city that includes celebrities, high-profile personalities and influential people with a net worth triple the national average. Our readers are mostly single, professionally employed, highly educated and own homes with an average value of $1.9 million. Our hip audience purchases elegant clothing, luxury vehicles, envious slices of real estate, frequents fine restaurants and travels the world to trendy hotels. This audience tends to be environmentally minded, politcally active and an artist community.

Our Topanga audience too has a long history of the rich and famous. Humphrey Bogart used to live here back in the days of classic cinema. In the mid-1900’s, several Hollywood celebrities made Lower Topanga Canyon their home, some of these included Peter Lorre, Carol Lombard, Shirley Temple, Ida Lupino. and Will Geer. Topanga Canyon is another hip community still known for its celebrity nature today. Our readers in this township are affluent, mostly single, professionally employed and highly educated.
