Eat, sleep, ride, repeat
With over 20 years’ experience perfecting the art of mobile riding safaris, Namibia Horse Safari Company offers incredibly adventurous riding safaris in the most beautiful place on the planet – the Namib Desert. For many, the simplicity of ‘eat, sleep, ride, repeat’ across this spell-binding place of extremes has been a life-changing experience.
What to expect
Moving with the quiet, uncomplicated rhythm of camp life, we follow the sun across these huge desert plains. There is time to linger, to absorb, and to allow oneself to be captivated by the splendour. The delight of coming across free-ranging desert adapted big game found nowhere else, riding across a dune sea or having to swim your horse across a river with crocodile and hippo nearby are part of life’s precious moments, remembered forever.
Some of our rides are known to be of the most challenging in the world and are therefore only suitable for experienced riders. Some rides are suitable for strong intermediate riders, if they come riding fit. The age restriction for children is 10 years old, and parents must exercise good judgement as we can cover up to 60km in a day – that’s six hours in the saddle, often at a very fast pace. For those who love all things horsey, to sleep under the magnificent southern stars with your horse quietly munching nearby is simply magical.
