Izzie Simper, 7, is a real egg entrepreneur…
Izzie Simper, 7, from near Ely in Cambridgeshire, takes her henkeeping very seriously – and has even set up a little business selling eggs.
Two years ago, when asked what she wanted for her seventh birthday, Izzie said: “Seven chickens… but they must be rescue ones!”
The family have various pets, some of which had been rescued, and Izzie was adamant the chickens should be too. Mum Jane and dad Barry duly obtained seven birds from the British Hen Welfare Trust.
Izzie said: “I have got lots more since then; some are rescue birds, but some are younger ones bought with the money I get selling the eggs. I now have about 15-16 eggs every day, so have lots to sell and have regular customers who buy them, including my vet.
