Chilling out on the ‘balcao’ with family and friends while listening to ‘Down by the riverside’, is the ultimate dream for those who love the good life – especially in the land of sun, surf, sand and ‘susegado’. Goa-based B&F Ventures (P) Ltd attempts to fulfill just such dreams. “To B&F, a luxurious home isn’t just glam and space, it is about the lifestyle connected to a sense of indulgence and subtle practical enhancement,” declares Jose Braganza, the realty company’s joint managing director.
Portuguese-style architecture with open-to-sky courtyards built to high-quality specifications with superior finish – the independent river-view villas, each with its own individual plot, stand out on the waterfront in Porvorim. Located in the serene and idyllic Salvador Do Mundo, away from the bustle of the city and yet in close proximity to the main market area, shopping complex and restaurants, the gated premier villa development gets its name from the creek it looks on to.
“The site was sloping from the road down towards the fields and backwaters with lots of tree cover. The first brainwave was to have houses at different levels, capturing maximum view from the site,” recalls architect Siddharth Naik of Ulysis, who has worked on this project and many of its ilk.
The client wanted a villa development with Goan-style architecture and each villa having their own private garden and parking space. Also, the general consensus was to have a development that is low on density but high on design quotient. Luckily for the designers, the brief of the client and their visualisation of the project were in synch.
