The Bucket List

The Bucket List

There’s something unique about this hobby that can’t be touched. It’s more than a hobby. Through thick and thin we always seem to stick together. Sure, the idea may seem trivial, but it’s stories like Terry Schwartz’s that make up the fabric of what car culture is.

The saying, “Be in love with your life, every minute of it,” has been associated to Jack Kerouac. Terry lives by that credo. In the chaos of our lives, it’s easy to forget how finite our time is. Yes, mortality is a price we all pay, but who dare asks when that time is up? Unfortunately for some, they are told.

Terry knows he’s blessed with every new day. In fact, every day for Terry is an absolute miracle since his doctor gave him three to six months to live nearly 10 years ago. His daily routine is much harder than yours. Every morning he undergoes experimental chemotherapy in order to stay alive. When the real value of time becomes vital you surround yourself with the things you love most. For Terry, that’s his family, his friends, and rebuilding his two 1968 Camaros.

In 1968, brothers Bob and Bill Krein purchased two matching Camaros fresh off the dealership floor. Both were white, had matching vinyl tops, and were 327 cars. Unfortunately, shortly thereafter, Bob went through some struggles and decided if he was letting his Camaro go it would have to go with friends. In 1970, Terry’s father presented the car to him as a graduation gift, which he was more than happy to accept.
