What is proxy racing? Which proxy is for you? How does proxy racing work? Where do I find a proxy racing event? We hope to answer these common questions and give you a quick look at what proxy racing is all about.

Over the past two years as I have re-entered the hobby, I have found proxy racing as a way to compete and interact with others around the world while not having to be there in person. This has been a great benefit to me, as there are no other slot car outlets where I live. So what exactly is proxy racing?

What is slot car proxy racing?

The easiest way to define a proxy race is this: an event where you build a slot car, based on a common class with preset rules, that will be sent literally around the world to be driven by enthusiasts with preset time or distance parameters.

Which Proxy Race is For You?

There are many options for you to choose from. Proxy races can be found in all parts of the world. You may be attracted to Trans Am, NASCAR, Group C, LMP, Formula One, or others. You may want to work with a ready to run (RTR), scratchbuilt, or even the cutting edge 3D laser-cut chassis. The options are many, so go and see what is out there.

How Does Proxy Racing Work?

Proxy series are set up with specific classes that clearly outline the specifications for:

• Body type and composition

• Chassis material

• Motor type and configuration
