Daniel Elmer found his single cab pick up early last year, on the internet after a lot of time spent searching. The bus had been imported to the UK in the January of 2018 from sunnier climes, after working hard from brand new in the late summer of 1973, until it was laid up in a barn in the mid nineties.
“It was Okay” says Daniel very positively. “I loved it from the word go, and could see the potential in the old girl, to make a great truck for work. At the time, I was slowly destroying my ‘76 bus - the family’s campervan - I thought that a single cab pick up would make a lot more sense to use as my daily. After all, that’s what it was designed for! The pick up was in remarkable condition. All of the external panel work and a lot of the paint is still original, together with the wheels and the suspension. I’ve even left the ride height as Wolfsburg intended”.

Lance & Lisa Beaver tell the story of their...‘Old School' Westfalia Bay
The history of our bus is varied. I heard that it used to belong to a soccer player who lived in it for a while, and a tale of a cross country trip that was taken in it. Since we’ve owned it, we have been to numerous car shows with our car club Kahiko Kula and enjoy that immensely, but taking it camping is our joy.
Messing About in Boats
