The Old Man's Truck

John Jeffriss’s last project, a T4 Woody, inspired his dad (also a John, so known as Jeff to try to avoid confusion) so much that he fancied something similar himself. He had seen and was involved with the Woody build and he really liked it, so much so that to help him with his gardening Jeff thought a pickup truck of some kind would be a very useful tool and of course, once John got involved, that truck was always going to be a Volkswagen.

The father and son duo found this 1996, T4 Doka that was powered by a standard 2.4-liter engine and was looking quite sorry for itself in it’s black, green and white paint job; though it came with a current MOT certificate, which John was sure came from dubious sources, immediately after their purchase it was taken straight to the workshop for a load of remedial welding and other work to be completed.
