V12's last hoorah?

The new Ferrari special editions get a re-engineered V12 that produces over 800bhp and revs to 9500rpm

V12's last hoorah?

THE 812 SUPERFAST IS ONE OF THE most powerful Ferrari production cars ever built. I remember when the Ed drove it in Dubai a couple of years ago. He returned with a caved in rib cage, raised eyebrows and a smile plastered on his face for weeks. The 812 Superfast is one of the most visceral and hysterical supercars of all the shrieking mental supercars that evo India has tested; 6.5-litres, natural aspiration and a howling V12 that delivers 789bhp to the rear wheels. No one would ever think that there was a need for more power, more ferocity and a more vociferous assault on the redline. No one, except the folks at Ferrari. So here’s what they developed — the new 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione Aperta, the latter being the drop-top version. This is a duo that embraces Ferrari’s latest technological advancements in the engine, vehicle dynamics and aerodynamics departments, taking things to the absolute next level.
