The First Night Feelings

Since long I’d been yearning for the taste of his slender lips, for his sturdy stature to press against mine and for his muscular arms to hold my petite frame tightly to him.

I couldn’t wait for us to explore ourselves under the satin sheets. I wanted to feel his vehemence, his caress and his affectionate force on me. I had imagined it all numerous times and I knew it would be euphoric, whenever it would happen. When it did happen, it was certainly much more than that.

I don’t know how to weave this feeling into words. It is the feeling which now seems to me as a trail of never-ending days of anticipation that I spent just thinking or obsessing or maybe worrying about it. Why worrying? Because it would be the first ever time I was going to be so close to somebody. Although that somebody was my husband Aarush who was not just the love of my life but also my confidante, my best friend, all rolled into one person. He’d be the first person to know if I had a difficult day in office or a frivolous argument with a friend. He had smoothly glided into my life from being just an acquaintance to being the most important person. I didn’t even realise when his life got entwined with mine. I shared a comfort level with him which I had never experienced with any man before and yet the thought of being with him sharing the same bed would give me chills. I craved for his touch. Being in his bare arms and making love to him was something I desperately wanted but being the shy person that I am, I knew I was never going to initiate it. Usually, I am someone who likes to take charge of things but here I was wanting my man to take the lead because somewhere at the back of his mind even he knew that I belonged to the coy kind.
