It was 2009 when Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez enchanted cinemagoers with her debut ‘Aladin’.

Though the film tanked at the box office, she managed to steal our hearts with her innocence and glamour and also bagged the ‘IIFA Award’ for Star Debut Of The Year. No obstacle has been strong enough to stop Jacqueline Fernandez from reaching the heights of her career and establishing herself as a first-rate commercial actress. The lady is just getting better with time and her fans swear by it. Being an outsider, her journey had its share of highs and lows but her upright persistence and patience were the anchors that supported her ship through the crests and troughs of life. Bollywood can be a little unnerving for someone like Jacqueline but she never gave up. From ‘Aladin’ to ‘Race 3’, her journey was long but fruitful as the actress has the best of directors willing to work with her. This year started on a high note for the her as she got the once in a lifetime opportunity to recreate Madhuri Dixit’s iconic song ‘Ek Do Teen’ for Tiger Shroff’s ‘Baaghi 2’ and also her multi-starrer film ‘Race 3’ which was a commercial success.

Onset Of Her Journey

Born into a multi-ethnic family of Canadian, Malaysian and Sri Lankan descent, Jacqueline Fernandez was born and brought up in Bahrain. After completing her graduation in mass communication from Australia, she worked as a television reporter in Sri Lanka. During her brief stint as a reporter, she participated and subsequently won the Miss Universe Sri Lanka Universe 2006 title and represented the country at the Miss Universe 2006 pageant. Such exposure resulted in a plethora of modelling offers coming her way which she undertook in her stride. Modelling industry served as a training ground for the actress and helped in shedding her inhibitions and building confidence.
