The second edition of the Future of Design Summit & Awards 2019 took place in Mumbai on October 17th. Speakers at the summit were top industry leaders from the field of design. Their talks and discussions were greatly appreciated by the design community for being thought-provoking and impactful. The conference was followed by the award ceremony, which recognised and felicitated the best prototypes and finished designs by designers, architects, innovators, and businesses.
More often than not, a design is all things tangible – elements that can be seen, touched or felt. What then is the role of ‘sound’ in design? According to the Indian film sound designer, sound editor, and audio mixer, Resul Pookutty, sound holds the power to directly impact the mind. The Academy Award winner argued that sound, almost without fail, even just traffic-noises or seashores, would elicit a reaction. In his headline address at the BW Businessworld Future of Design Summit & Awards 2019, Pookutty referred to the concept of married print, where picture and sound are combined to create one singular expression.
The Future of Design Summit & Awards were held at the Four Seasons in Mumbai on October 17th. It brought together leaders from across disciplines to explore and discuss the tenets of good design. The event facilitated discussions that aimed at helping designers get valuable real-time feedback from practitioners and also helped marketers think through the importance of cutting-edge design in product development.
