The annual Bauma Conexpo India show is likely to outdo expectations for visitors and the organisers seem happy.
Perhaps after a long time the construction equip-ment (CE) industry is seeing growth. Obviously, with the large number of roads & highways proj-ects, not to forget Sagarmala, being awarded, it has meant a massive invitation to CE makers to manufacture and supply. This is a relief. For long, the CE makers were at the receiving end when faced with a downturn that went on for far too long.
The organisers too are putting in some novelty and offering increased networking opportunities to exhibitors. This year the Buyer Seller Forum is a new initiative to enable the exhibitors to enhance networking opportunities. There is a request from vendors to seek our collaboration with component manufacturers thus helping them better their equipment in the future.
There are also some of the usual one-day concurrent conferences focussed on technology trends, policies, future direction and opportunities in Indian infrastructure growth. With eminent speakers and panellists from policy makers, industry leaders, suppliers and users, the conference provides a comprehensive platform to share ideas, and offers a direction.
Construction Week India spoke to a few exhibitors to understand trends and find out what their expectations are from the event.
Dimitrov Krishnan, VP & head of Volvo CE India, says that his company is introducing two new models to the region: a new large-capacity wheel loader and an asphalt compactor. The two new machines will help contractors meet the demand for high-performing, reliable equipment for infrastructure projects.
