Women can be more successful at sales than men; all they need is to believe in themselves.
If you sell for a living, then I want you to imagine being so confident and comfortable in your next sales conversation that you set aside your own needs, and completely focus on the prospect’s situation. I want you to imagine not even being concerned with selling something—because you are not certain what you and the other person are talking about will really be a good fit for either of you. Imagine that what you are concerned with, in this discussion, is getting to the truth of the matter. What is the ‘real’ problem the prospect has? How will you figure out if your product or service really is the best solution?
Turning this imaginary scenario into reality is what professional saleswomen do naturally. But it only happens in the real world once they overcome these three self-limiting beliefs:
Selling is distasteful and requires being pushy and aggressive
I am not as good as a man when it comes to selling
To succeed, I will need to sell how men have traditionally sold
Selling is not what you think
