NMDC’s Q4 Iron Ore Production Up 9% to 11.35 mt

Mining major NMDC recorded iron ore production of 11.35 million tons (mt) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2017-18, registering an increase of 9 percent over the corresponding quarter last year. Sales of iron ore stood at 10.54 mt, an increase of 8 percent over the corresponding period last year, the company said in a BSE filing.
The company’s turnover during Q4 stood at ₹3,883 crore, representing an increase of 35 percent as compared to the same period last year. NMDC recorded a profit before tax (PBT) of ₹1,992 crore and profit after tax (PAT) of ₹1,106 crore which went up by 61 percent and 116 percent respectively as compared to the same period last year.
NMDC registered a growth of 5 percent in production and 1 percent in sales of iron ore in 2017-18 over the corresponding period last year. The company has produced 35.58 mt and sold 36.07 mt of iron ore during 201718 against a production volume of 34.01 mt and sales of 35.62 mt in the corresponding period last year.
