Wrapped up in LOVE

Senzo “Kwesta” Vilakazi (31) and Yolanda (29) tied the knot in 2018 after dating for over 8 years. The rapper recently started sharing their love story through his music, and it’s been an amazing ride. The parents of seven-year-old Khai opened up to us a bit more.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Yolanda: We met in 2010 on the set of his music video where I was working as a video vixen. Initially, I was not feeling him because he was busy cracking jokes that I didn’t find amusing. But, after seeing how hard he was trying to get my attention, I decided to give him a chance.

Kwesta: I’m an awkward person, so I was making jokes because I was nervous about shooting the music video. I thought I was funny, and when she resisted my charm, I became intrigued and wanted to get to know her even more. We kept in touch afterwards, and as they say – the rest is history.

LOVE LIVES HERE

Yolanda: I love that he’s humble and respectful even though he’s a superstar. I felt most loved by him when I fell pregnant. I was scared and nervous because a child was not yet part of our plans. But, when I told him, he promised to love and support me, and this is when I knew that he truly loved me. I’m happy that he kept his word and continues to be a loving father and husband.

Kwesta: I knew that I was in love when I couldn’t go a day without talking to her. When she told me that she was pregnant, I used that opportunity to show her that I’m the man for her. Even though I wasn’t ready to be a father, I made sure that she felt loved and supported. I’ve always wanted to do right by her, and when I was ready for marriage, I spoke to my uncles to ask her family for her hand in marriage.
