It’s been a whirlwind romance for Katie (Heather Tom) and Thorne (Ingo Rademacher) during the last few months and it’s not just his family who was surprised to learn that Thorne had proposed to Katie. “Once Thorne came back to town, there was an immediate attraction,” says Heather. “At first Katie didn’t want to acknowledge it because she was having so much fun in her sexy fling relationship with Wyatt (Darin Brooks). But she was finding her attraction to Thorne was difficult to ignore. Then as soon as she realised that it couldn’t go anywhere with Wyatt because he was her ex-son-in-law and her son Will’s (Finnegan George) half brother, she was free to explore with Thorne.”
BIG LOVE
Ingo says that Thorne had instant feelings after meeting Katie last year when his brother Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and her sister Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) got engaged. “But at that moment they were both in other relationships. Once both were free, Thorne could pursue his relationship with Katie.”
And although their families were a little taken aback with the whirlwind romance and the quick engagement, most are happy for the couple. “They are surprised because they think it has been kind of quick for Katie,” admits Heather. “They do hope that she’s finally found her Prince Charming.”
And Katie has, according to Heather. “She really falls hard for Thorne. He is like her knight on the white horse who rescues her from her hardships.”
