Double or nothing

Sibonelo’s persistence sees him proposing to Nonka and Siphilile twice and still facing rejection from both.

Sibonelo (Wiseman Mncube) is going to wish that he was dealing with rival gangs this fortnight when real trouble finds its way to him. His girlfriends Nonka (Thuthuka Mthembu) and Siphilile (Nomthandazo Tee Xaba) confront him for two timing them and they demand he picks one. “Sibonelo loves them both,” says Wiseman, “and he just can’t choose one or the other.”

In an effort to keep them both, the gangster comes up with a not-so-great idea: he buys similar engagement rings and calls the ladies to his house where he gets down on not one, but two knees and proposes to them at the same time. “You should see their reactions. Nonka and Siphilile are freaked out! They think that it’s a sick joke of some sort, but Sibonelo has never been more serious in his life. He wants them as his wives,” explains Wiseman.

Without wasting time, both women reject his proposal and dump him on the spot. They refuse to share him. Not taking the rejection well, Sibonelo is going to try his luck again until they both agree to marry him.
