The internet streaming service has seasons 1-12 and that means a lot of patients on the operating table. But such a demand to heal the ill calls for a special leader. Show creator Shonda Rhimes explains that she was sitting in her PJs one day dreaming up a new show. “I kept asking myself: ‘What kind of woman should the heroine be?’ She should be someone who’d made big mistakes and despite that still wants to save lives and make a difference.”
