When it comes to juggling worlds, Desna is the queen, explains Niecy Nash, lead star of dramedy seriesClaws (2017-now). “Desna runs Nail Artisans nail salon. She’s a mother hen to the girls there. She’s mom-sister to her autistic brother Dean (Harold Perrineau, Michael in Lost, 2004-2010). She is laundering drug money for local crime gang The Dixie Mafia. Desna has her hands full but she’s got her end game in sight!” That doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy: Desna’s druglord boss Uncle Daddy (Dean Norris, Hank in Breaking Bad, 2008-2013) isn’t going to let his cash cow get away. “Desna is streetsmart but boy, is this girl naïve. She thinks that she’s going to get a bigger slice of the pie,” says Niecy.
