WWDC 2017: Everything You Need To Know

WWDC IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER

Once a year, Apple brings together thousands of talented developers from around the globe for a celebration of software, sales and for an unveiling of its latest iOS and macOS software. This year’s WWDC, which is also known as the Worldwide Developer Conference, is no different – thousands of people will get together at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California for a five-day event that’s packed with keynotes, sessions, consultations and guest speakers. It’s fair to say that WWDC is one of the biggest events in the technology calendar.

This year’s event kicks off on June 5, where Tim Cook and co will grace the stage and deliver a keynote speech on the year ahead. iOS, macOS, tvOS, and watchOS are all expected to receive updates, but this year’s event could be even more exciting with a rumored iPad and Mac launch and the announcement of Apple’s Google Home competitor – the Siri Speaker.

iOS WILL BE THE STAR OF THE SHOW

As is the tradition at WWDC, Apple will almost certainly unveil the next iteration of iOS. At present, there have been very few rumors around the next version of the iPhone and iPad operating system. iOS 11 will reportedly include a social video sharing app, following in the footsteps of Facebook Live and Vine. And, when you pair this rumor with the Cupertino firm’s recently-released Clips app, which aims to take on Snapchat, it seems dead cert that Apple will be heading into video territory with iOS 11 – and we’re excited about it already!
