TOWNS and villages in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire consistently rank in ‘Top Tens’ of some of the best places to live in the UK. Of course, those of us who live in these counties know the appeal. Many spent our childhoods here and have remained or elected to return: some have been drawn by the countryside and picturesque towns, within easy access of London for commuters. We are fortunate to enjoy a plethora of historic and cultural centres, from National Trust properties to museums, galleries, theatres and more, which all contribute to an enriching lifestyle.

Using data from the Office for National Statistics, the research compared variables such as average house prices, life expectancy, hospital ratings, population, crime and happiness scores, across nine English regions and each of the 48 counties in England.
