Somerset garden designer MICHELLE WAKE shares her top five tips for sprucing up your summer garden.
DON’T worry, it’s not too late to get the garden sorted for the summer. Here are five ideas that will make a real difference to your outdoor room:
1 UNITED COLOURS
Colour is an easy way to give your garden the ‘wow’ factor. Most of us think of colour in relation to flowers, but flower colour persists for just a couple of months. Choosing a single colour for furniture, pots or fences pulls the garden together all year round. Painting a door and bench the same shade of blue can tie the garden together and create a harmonious atmosphere. Adding a seasonal accent of blue agapanthus in a pot emphasises the theme.
