Gauri Khan, On Creativity and Being The Queen Of Decor

Gauri Khan has an assortment of opulent spaces to her credit. Her design sensibility makes sure that every project she takes on looks glamorous once she’s added her special touch to it. Under her venture, Gauri Khan Designs, Khan has undertaken residential and commercial projects that include Jacqueline Fernandez’s and Ranbir Kapoor’s homes, the nursery for Karan Johar’s children, and Arth restaurant in both Mumbai and Pune, among many others. Her design style is comfortable, warm and eclectic, and you will never find a piece that looks out of place. Khan has showcased her luxurious collections at the prestigious Maison & Objet design exhibition in Paris, and also collaborated with a number of home décor brands on lighting and furniture campaigns. Besides being an ace interior designer, she has the golden touch in another field. Khan has produced a number of box-office hits like Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express and Dear Zindagi to name a few. With more film and interior design projects coming up, Khan’s year looks quite busy. Edited excerpts from the interview.
