Horror Legend Robert Englund Is Back!

Lorenzo Ricciardi
Nightworld

Written by Barry Keating, Loris Curci and Milan Konjevic and filmed in 18 days in Bulgaria with an international crew, Nightworld stars horror veteran Robert Englund opposite Jason London and is directed by Chilean director Patricio Valladares (Hidden in the Woods, Downhill).

The film starts off when former LAPD Office, Brett Irlam takes a job as head of security at an old apartment building in Bulgaria’s capital, Sofia, where he begins to experience a series of bizarre and terrifying events. Once he begins to delve deep into the building’s sinister history, and investigate it’s shadowy owners and past employees, Brett soon uncovers a malevolent force nestled deep in the bowels of the building in a basement, an entity that will do anything to be set free into our world.

SCREAM met up with actor Robert Englund, director Patricio Valladares and writer/producer Loris Curcito recently to talk about this all new psychological horror.

ROBERT ENGLUND

SCREAM: What convinced you to accept the lead role of Nightworld?

ROBERT ENGLUND: Nightworld is one of the best scripts I have read for a while. It offered me the chance to play a type of character that I had never played before. It was challenging, and fun, and my character had some great lines. I’m the guardian of a mysterious building in the heart of Sofia, in Bulgaria. My character knows all its secrets, its history. He will be key to understanding the terrifying threat that comes from the very bowels of the building. It was fun to read and very well written, which is not common with lots of scripts I usually receive. And then it gave me the chance of going back to work with Loris Curci, the producer.
