Writers Andi Ewington and Rhianna Pratchett know their D&D. There are gags about ability rolls and Gelatinous Cubes (nice to see an original Gary Gygax monster still amusing fans).
The creators have impressive pedigrees. Artist Calum Alexander Watt drew costume concepts for Lucasfilm. Editor de Campi is an acclaimed thriller writer.
The scenarios are often simply charming observations – the word count is low. But 50-odd detailed illustrations elevate this to something you can pore (paw?) over.
