Steely Canadian detective John Cardinal tackles his last ever case

Brooding, burnt-out investigator John Cardinal and ambitious fellow detective Lise Delorme take on their last homicide case as Canadian crime thriller Cardinal has its fourth and final outing on BBC2.

This time, the Algonquin Bay cops are on the hunt for a hired killer following the abduction of a prominent politician’s husband, who’s left to die of exposure in the freezing Ontario winter.

It appears to be a case of betrayal and savage revenge, but as the hit list menacingly grows – particularly with the return of local man Scott Riley to the area – so does the danger facing Cardinal and Delorme.
