Anna Paquin plays a traumatised police officer who loses herself in a troubling virtual world
The line between fantasy and reality becomes dangerously blurred as two worlds collide in the latest instalment of sci-fianthology Electric Dreams.
In the present day, billionaire technology entrepreneur George (Terrence Howard) is suffering from memory loss and struggling to piece his life together.
Meanwhile, in the future, haunted cop Sarah (Anna Paquin) is looking to escape her painful existence after surviving an unfathomable trauma.
‘The story is told through both George and Sarah’s eyes,’ explains True Blood star Paquin, 35. ‘But we begin with Sarah, who’s a futuristic police detective and has a flying car and all sorts of toys and gadgets.
‘But despite these sci-fitrappings, Sarah is very much grounded in reality. There has been a trauma in her life and she is desperately unhappy. She was the sole survivor of a massacre of her fellow police officers and has post-traumatic stress disorder and survivor’s guilt.’
