NEW DRAMA
Deadline
Tuesday-Friday, 9pm, Channel 5
Our fascination with true crime is put under the microscope in Channel 5’s latest thriller, Deadline, airing over four consecutive nights this week, and starring James D’Arcy as a disgraced former investigative journalist who lands the interview of the decade.
His character, James Alden, was once a rising star, but made a terrible mistake that derailed his career, and he now earns his living making lurid true-crime documentaries.
But he gets a shot at redemption when he’s assigned to cover the case of Natalie Varga (Peaky Blinders star Charlie Murphy), who is accused of murdering her wealthy, older Hungarian husband.
