Our Man On The Radio Is Embracing His Festive Feels

Confession time. I watched Love Actually to get myself in the mood for the festive season.

Our Man On The Radio Is Embracing His Festive Feels

Confession time, Part II. I did this in Friday November 18.

I know what you’re thinking: ‘Too soon.’ And you’re right. In my defence, I did it behind closed doors and no one else was forced into doing it with me. Not that I was watching it on my own. Goodness no!

My wife and daughter accompanied me. We lit a balsam candle. One of those candles as big as a toilet roll that cost Dhs100. One of those candles with three wicks, so they burn down really quickly, forcing you to buy another candle for Dhs100. It’s the circle of life.

Tashas - A New Cafe Concept Opens in Al Bateen

What do you get if you mix South African cuisine with Arabic and Mediterranean dishes, influences and décor? Tashas, a new high-end café in Al Bateen. Originally launched 12 years ago by South African Natasha Sideris, the Abu Dhabi branch is the first in the capital and will likely ruffle a few feathers among the city’s café scene, because Tashas is a cut above most we’ve visited in the capital.
