SHE went from being an adored child star to a troubled twentysomething, swopping the twinkling lights of Tinseltown for the inside of a jail cell and a long, hard battle with al cohol and drugs.
Lindsay Lohan was arrested several times for reckless driving and shoplifting and her widely publicised addiction problem appeared to have confined her once-promising career to a brief chapter in history.
But it seems Lindsay (35) is on the comeback trail and has slowly started picking up the pieces – both in her personal and professional life.
She recently announced on social media that she and her boyfriend of three years, Bader Shammas, were engaged. In the images, a loved-up Lindsay can be seen looking adoringly at Bader, a financier from Kuwait City, while showing off a breathtaking six-carat ring custommade by luxury jeweller Harry Winston.
“My love. My life. My family. My future,” Lindsay captioned her post.
Although the pair have mostly kept their relationship under wraps, those close to her – including her mom, Dina (59) – have only good things to say about the romance.
“Lindsay is dating a wonderful guy right now,” Dina says. “When she’s ready to talk about her personal life, she will.”
She has resumed her acting career again too. Lindsay will be starring in a Netflix holiday romcom, which is yet to be titled, set for release over the festive season next year.
“She’s back!” Netflix wrote about the star’s new movie, in which she plays a newly engaged, spoilt hotel heiress who suffers amnesia following a skiing accident.
