What is Vihara?
The Yoga Institute, we learn the four pillars of a holistic life: Ahara or healthy food, Vihara or recreation, Achara or healthy routines, Vichara or cultivating healthy thought patterns.
Vihara or recreation should not be confused for entertainment as it is not something that we do to pass time. It is pursuing a hobby, making the activity a part of our daily lives such that it enriches our personality and contributes to our overall growth. Besides, when we are the ones choosing the activity as per our interests, why would it not be entertaining?
